Extra-Curricular Activities
At El Dorado Christian School we believe it is important for our students to be actively involved in extra-curricular activities. Though classroom learning is the primary reason for a school’s existence, we believe the invaluable lessons learned through extra-curricular activities will help a student’s development. Students in all grade levels are given an opportunity to participate in field trips, academic competitions, and fine arts and skills competitions. Students have participated in academic competitions, such as Math Olympics, Creative Writing contests, Science Fairs, and Spelling bees through Association of Christian Schools International, as well as academic and fine arts competitions and local essay contests with area schools.
We emphasize spiritual growth through Bible classes and chapel services. We often have guest speakers for our chapel services, which are held monthly. In addition, guest speakers on various topics as well as field trips supplement our classroom learning. Other activities in which our students have participated in include FBLA, Honor Societies for elementary through high school, community service through delivering Meals on Wheels, serving at the local nursing home, adopting needy families at Christmas, and ringing the bells for the Salvation Army at Christmas. We have also entertained many crowds with our Drama and Choir department, and our preschool and elementary students perform a Christmas program and Patriotic program annually.
